It's hard to say. They do have a history of bringing in productions that have played elsewhere, and sometimes mounting a show in which the artists aren't based in New York incurs housing and transport costs that can become quite expensive, not to mention if they have to bring over the scenery and costumes from overseas/Oregon.

I'm more struck by the fact that most of these seem to be smaller cast shows. That could be a sign that this past season underperformed for them. It could also be a sign that after spending a couple of years doing very big shows, they have to tighten their belts for a season. Or it could just be that these were the plays that spoke to them, and everything else is just a coincidence.

Would they have a different season if they had done the Hamlet? Maybe, maybe not.
