Yes it is and I'm not claiming it's fact based or that it has any negative association... let's say they did plan it together, why would that be anything but good? Also it was two years ago... The Public deciding to remount a recent staging for 2 nights that was staged 2 years ago isn't exactly the kind of convenient cahoots that could be seen as a conflict of interest for Encores or Tesori.
But also, it's fair to point out that Violet is Tesori's musical and it was (i think?) her first show as head of Encores off-center... AND Sutton had just starred in a hit revival of Anything Goes for Roundabout... i mean... let the conspiracy theories fly!
I don't care what the reasons are or who is benefiting as long as we get good musicals produced well and people get paid and get to see them, especially if the tickets are cheap or free! |
