| I have a European bootleg of "Song Of The South". It is quite entertaining and James Baskin. Hattie McDaniel, Ruth Warrick and Bobby Driscoll are all excellent in it. It is foolish and pointless to limit distribution of this film. It is, after all, a record of how our society viewed this country 80 years before it was made. It is a reflection of how the 1940's viewed the 1850's and 1860's. That is valuable information. Hiding history is even WORSE than rewriting it. |
