I'm not at all surprised. While I know some here were pretty sure this show wouldn't happen, I never thought this production would be cancelled.
I WOULD love to hear what happened behind closed doors. I didn't think Lee's Estate had much of a case, and I LOVE that Rudin argued that the script needed to be performed, not just read.
And even more, that the judge agreed with this (albeit by saying- "just do the show and film it" like that's something that just happens magically). Really fascinating (if not completely unprecedented) potential use of performance in the courtroom. It's sort of a shame this courtroom (judge's chambers?) performance never got to happen. |
