| I saw the Steppenwolf production back in Jan., 2008. My recollection is that the play takes place at a Catholic prep school. A pornographic tape is found depicting a teenage girl engaging in a particularly degrading sex act with a young guy whose face is not shown. The football coach suspects that his star quarterback Brandon is the boy and contacts his mother. Brandon denies he is the guy in the tape. It then turns out that Brandon and his best friend Justin have a clandestine sexual relationship. I believe Justin accuses Brandon of making the tape and allowing it to be found to dispel any rumors that he is gay. Justin wants to be open about their relationship, but Brandon insists that it must remain a secret. There's also a subplot about an adult male in the play having had an improper relationship with a student decades earlier. It was over 10 years ago and my memory may be a little faulty, but that's what I remember. |
