The Atlantic Theater Company offers memberships, not subscriptions. Perhaps you don't discern the difference--which may lead to your confusion and pique.
I've been an Atlantic member for many years. I renewed for the 2018-2019 season a couple of weeks ago without knowing what the productions are going to be. Same deal as last year and the year before that and the year before that. Perhaps they'll never "get their act together."
I pay my money and take my chances. There's no guarantee that I'm going to like most or any of the shows Atlantic offers. If I encounter enough consecutive seasons with a majority of clunkers, I'll quit. I've come close before.
I would point out that you don't know whether you're going to like a show even if you know what you're paying for. It's always a crap shoot. |
