| Hi; I feel that there is no problem with the film. It has wonderful dancing, singing, and acting and is just good old fashioned entertainment. Who cares if it does not address gender equality or ten other topics of today that other films seem to go out of their way to address. Some people, like myself, sometimes don't want to have the hot topic of the day thrown in my face by a film or tv show. I just want to relax and be entertained. There are thousands of films made prior to 1950 that address nothing, they just entertain us and have no political or other type of statement to make. This does not mean these films have a problem. We should watch these films today to be entertained and to appreciate the level of talent appearing in these films. How many films of this type are made today? Not many. Thanks for your post, and guess what? After dinner I'm going to sit down, relax, and watch Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. |
