This production has A-list understudies. I’m sure they’re off book. I have to assume there’s an Equity rule prohibiting them from performing without a put-in. But that wouldn’t prevent Mantello from filling the role.
With the limited run, it means I’ll miss it. Very disappointing, and very unprofessional.
For the record, I once got a phone call, flew to New York from Boston, and went on as a replacement that night. It can be done. |
