| You are assuming everyone stays in the same town/city. My mother grew up in East Boston, but also lived in Medford, Austin, TX, Billerica (near Lowell) and Framingham. | |

| I spent the first 21 years in Lowell or Worcester, and the next 47 in Michigan. People here notice my "New York" accent, and when I visit Mass. cousins tease me about my 'Chicago' accent. One oddity of late, sometimes vowels start to come out of my mouth and they go in both directions at once. I had to wait til FORTY SECOND street to catch miss Grimes on stage,(twice)and it was woth the wait.t | |

| Very interesting, thanks. I did see Tammy Grimes in "Molly Brown." I have lived in Pennsylvania for a long time, but I still have a Massachusetts accent. | |
