| Christopher Durang's latest play, TURNING OFF THE MORNING NEWS, opened over the weekend at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ. I found it well worth seeing and imagine it will have a good life beyond this production. It's a lot darker and sharper than VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE -- in my eyes, a return to form for Durang. Kristine Nielsen is, predictably, excellent in the central role. Anyone else been to see it, or planning to? |

| Saw it last week as well and thought it was sub-par Durang. Felt that it was inconsistently directed and the plot had elements of a second rate "House of Blue Leaves". Left us (my wife and I) totally flat. That said, the woman next to us thought it was fantastic! By the way, there were some good jokes in the script; yet you would hope so when it is written by Christopher Durang. Plot was not very compelling. | |

| My wife and a friend of hers saw it last week and thought it was terrible. They have a subscription to McCarter. I didn’t ask her for her reasons. |
