I sat in the dress circle and didn't see any evidence at all that the stairs are in some way dangerously constructed. If anything, there was a bit more navigating room, which I assume was added to accommodate the at-your-seat service of drinks and snacks. I am always amazed that more people don't fall in some of the Broadway theaters with steep mezzanines and balconies and no railings.
