| The reference wasn't so much about the perceived politics of Berkeley Rep patrons, but rather that her delivery seemed tuned to a theatre audience and not - as would seem appropriate to the character - to an audience of American Legion members who would be judging a contest such as this. (I was on my college's speech and debate team, and judged high school debate contests, so I am perhaps a bit more attuned to how teens in that situation usually sound!) |
