| It is as ambitious (yay!) and bloated (boo!) as this thread suspects - perhaps even moreso. I caught it early in its 2-and-a-half-month run at ART and it needed focus, trimming, and something to actually be about. This would be a success as a concept album but is currently in need of major improvement if it's going to be a success as a piece of theatre. If this has Broadway plans locked down, as I suspect it does, this will be another original musical miss (mess?) from Paulus. |
