Gershwin Theatre? George or George and Ira?

I could swear that the Gershwin was named after George and not the brothers. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance.

On the 1983 Tony Awards (viewable on YouTube), you can listen to Laurence Olivier announce the renaming of the Uris that evening, clearly stating it would be for both Gershwins (it comes at the end of the broadcast).

Thanks! I have a copy of that Tonys, taped by a friend on BetaMax! I'll check it out.

According to IBDB it's both, though I always thought it was just George. (It's a barn so it will always be the Uris to me.)
