....would want such a system. They make an absolute FORTUNE on the resale tickets. They profit from the initial fees they charge on the tickets, and then they profit a second time from even more exorbitant fees they place on the resale tix.
Even their "verified fan" system seems geared toward pushing people towards resale tickets. If you missed the cutoff for registering as a verified fan, for instance, and you want to see a concert - you have no other choice than the resale market, albeit Ticketmaster's Verified resale or Stub Hub and their ilk.
Ticketmaster can use the term "verified" all they want. They aren't really doing anything to curb the price gouging here in the U.S.
Bravo to Ed Sheeran for trying something that sounds truly equitable! |
