First, a big thanks to Unhookthestars for the info on Audra's S.F. Symphony performance.
She was glorious with the Oregon Symphony. Patter was divine. The overall tone was a bit melancholy and there were tears at multiple points, particularly in the second act.
Inexact program in approximate sequence:
• Sing Happy
• It Might As Well Be Spring
• It's Lovely Up Here
• Stars and the Moon
• Cornet Man
• Summertime (UNAMPLIFIED!!!)
• Chain of Love
• Simple Little Things
• I Could Have Danced All Night (sing along)
Intermission
• When Did I Fall In Love?
• Being Good Isn't Good Enough
• I Won't Mind
• You've Got To Be Carefully Taught / Children Will Listen
• Vanilla Ice Cream
• The Facebook Song (Are You Fucking Kidding Me) -- If you haven't heard it, look it up
• Never Will I Marry / Being Alive -- Prefaced with a great story about failing at an attempt to sing for Sondheim at the PEN Benefit in 2017
• I'll Be Here
• Make Someone Happy
• Climb Every Mountain
Encore
• Somewhere Over the Rainbow
A generous, compelling, and thoroughly enjoyable evening. |
