Some shows use the head mics where there is a little dot on the forehead that gets covered with make up. Other shows, like "Memphis" and "School of Rock" use the mics that visibly extend over the cheek and make the cast members look like a telemarketer. I remember seeing "Memphis" for the first time and being horribly distracted by those mics. I had a similar experience with the "School of Rock" tour last night, though I am getting used to them.
What is the benefit of using the telemarketer mics that extend over the cheek? I'm trying to figure out why shows use them at all. |
