Jeremy Jordan was never replaced. Morrison was already announced for Broadway when Jeremy went out of town with the show. But often, when someone is fired, they announce an excuse so that the actor saves face. Yes, the fire happened but yes, they wanted him gone (he got bad reviews out of town and Karl became available when his TV show fell through) so they allowed Kazee to save face by saying he needed to take care of his father (by setting up a GoFundMe page instead of starring in a Broadway show).
