| When shows were out of town people used to leave due to "creative differences." In TV pilots, when actors are replaced, the trades simply refer to the role being "recast" and often are kind enough not to mention the name of the actor who was replaced. You do what you can to let the performer leave with dignity. But it is all about money. The money riding on the production. If the feeling is that the actor isn't working out in the role, he or she is let go and replaced. No one is "fired." Even though they are. It's a tough business and actors need any cover they can get. Even using a family tragedy. Makes sense to me. |
