During the decades of my theater going experiences people have frequently asked me why I go back to see things multiple times. Your explanation is as profound and clear as any I could have wanted. Live theater has the ability to reveal new things within a text each and every time the piece is performed. This production is a prime example. I saw the original production and was bowled over by it. Upon viewing this production (granted I bring additional life experiences with me) I have learned some important life lessons. For me.....I have learned more acceptance in regards to the limitations and finality of life. i.e. major stuf
I'm thinking of going back as I wonder what other lessons exist in the text that will be revealed and I am ready to learn.
And that.....my friends....is the magic of live theater. |
