| I'm not sure we're far enough away from the original production to really have a sense of how "Rent" will be regarded in the years to come. I'm not aware of a larger consensus as to how it's held up (I think it's getting better with age), but I also would say that "Hamilton" is a much stronger piece of writing than "Rent"... which, to be fair, was is still an unfinished musical for all intents and purposes. (I remain convinced that the show would open with a song, probably "Seasons of Love", if Larson had sat through a few previews.) |
