| Those people who'd get tickets (like me) would simply leave work an hour early, knowing the greater good they'd be doing for schoolkids who could now attend and anyone else who doesn't live in Manhattan. People can try their luck at the standby line at 5pm/5:30pm. Or if they want to take a half day to do standby, they can show up at 12noon. The B doesn't run late nights, and the D runs express 125th to 59th 24/7. In other words, no downtown service from the 81st/CPW platform after the show lets out. (I bet many Public Theater employees are going to have complaints Wednesday morning when they show up for work after Tuesday's performance, after they realize they have to put up with this hellish commute practically every single day - 3 full weeks of no downtown CPW train service after the show gets out! And all next weekend too.) | |
