| I'm saying this as someone who has not yet seen Hamilton. I have not seen it because, coming from out of town, I don't have the flexibility to get tickets for just any date, and I don't want to pay the outrageous prices being charged. That said, I believe Hamilton is the most overrated show of all time because I don't think ANY show can be worth the hype and prices being paid to see this show. Hamilton may very well be the best show that's ever been on Broadway, but it's still not worth this kind of hype. Nothing can be as good as this hype. The Producers had similar hype, and while a really great show, it was NOT head and shoulders above other shows at that time. Book of Mormon had similar hype and, when I finally saw it (5 years after it opened), I thought it was a fun show, but NOT worth that kind of hype. That's my 2-cents worth and I'm standing by it. Maybe I'll get to see Hamilton in 10 years, when tickets are at a reasonable price. |
