| I'm sure it's also owing to the stars' commitments, especially if they're in demand. Laurie Metcalf is due back on Roseanne, coming back in the fall, for example. And I'm sure Denzel, Andrew, Nathan, et al. have other projects to move onto. It's only a shame they are so star driven or else I'm sure a replacement cast coming in would be great. | |

| Is a good example of replacement cast bombing at boxoffice even though i think the critics still liked them. Play that goes wrong is a rare example of a replacement cast working, but the show wasnt sold so much with british cast as dolls house tony winning lead | |

| In addition, Play That Goes Wrong has the smallest overhead on Broadway in the least desirable house so the landlords didn't have much incentive to keep them out and the production kept making its nut, barely. | |

| why do you say the Lyceum is the least desirable house? Because of it's size or age? | |

| I perhaps oversold the "least" and should have written "one of the least." It's a beautiful theater but its E of Broadway location and small size hurt its attractiveness to stars and producers looking for an extended run. Of course Beautiful has run longer E of Broadway than any production in at least 40 years. | |
