Because of the way ''A Chorus Line'' was developed, weren't they based on the ethnicities of the performers of color who shared their stories?
Connie is based on Baayork Lee, so Connie's Asian. Paul is based on Nicholas Dante, so he's Puerto Rican. Morales is based on Priscilla Lopez, etc.
The performers originally waived the rights to their life stories for only $1 each; years later, a different royalty arrangement would be reached. |
