I haven't seen the play, but does the program not contain any sort of glossary or Harry Potter synopsis for audiences members who are not intimately familiar with the books/movies?

That would seem to have been a good idea...even making it available (with spoiler warnings, of course) on the play's website, so that audience members could bone up ahead of time without having to read seven books.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of what is sometimes seen in opera programs for those unfamiliar with the story.

I imagine that even those who've read the books and seen the movies, but not for quite some time, might be happy to refresh their memories.

The Playbill (Showbill, actually) contains extensive notes: detailed (if brief) synopses of all seven books, a lengthy glossary, and IIRC even an "extra stuff you should know" section.

Seth, no sympathy
