| Another studio might indeed pick it up but a new network would include new contracts and it is doubtful that Metcalf would sign back on. Similarly Sara Gilbert is not going to damage her brand. The show has already lost Wanda Sykes following this morning's tweet. I don't think Whitney Cummings would sign back on either. All of these people will get jobs however. Unfortunately it will be in television not in theater where we could use such bright names. The people I feel sorry for are people like Lecy Gorensen and Michael Fishman and the new writers and cast members who thought they had settled into a nice multi year gig and now find the rug pulled out from underneath them. It is like if all of a sudden Harry Potter announced it was closing at the end of next week. The cast, the crew and all those new enthusiastic staff members at the Lyric would be confused and beside themselves. |
