| SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS New York’s First Ever Immersive Close-Up Magic Experience Created and Performed by World Renowned Magician JOSHUA JAY Will Get a Limited Engagement beginning June 1 – July 28, 2018 Opening Night: Saturday, June 9, 2018 at The Lower East Side’s, Wildrence World Renowned Magician Joshua Jay, will present the first-ever immersive close-up magical experience, with his newest creation, Six Impossible Things, directed by Luke Jermay. Six Impossible Things will inhabit New York City’s most exciting storytelling space, Wildrence (59 Canal Street), for a limited run beginning June 1, opening June 9 and will only run through July 28, 2018. Tickets are $106—$126 and can be purchased at SixImpossibleThingsShow.com. Performing for only 20 people, Joshua Jay’s Six Impossible Things moves audiences through several rooms where a new mystery unfolds to reveal an impossible “thing”. During the course of 75 minutes, you will experience astounding magic inches from your face, in the dark, and even alone, in the first and only immersive close-up magic show. The six astounding magic effects, are all original creations of master magician Joshua Jay. The artwork throughout the space is created by celebrated artist Serge Block. “After traveling the world performing, I am thrilled to present this one-of-a-kind show in my first New York City residency at The Mist. Everything that audience members see, in Six Impossible Things, is completely original and created specifically for this show. The audience and I will travel through the space together experiencing “impossible things.” Everyone gets a front row “seat” but they will not just see a magic show, they are part of the show.” Joshua Jay JOSHUA JAY has performed on stages in over 100 countries, and this is his first residency in New York. Joshua was awarded the top prize at the World Magic Seminar and has fooled Penn and Teller on their hit show, “Fool Us”. He holds a Guinness World Record in card magic. He has performed magic on numerous television shows, most recently “Good Morning America” and “The Today Show”. Joshua Jay is the author of MAGIC: The Complete Course, The Amazing Book of Cards, and, for children, Big Magic for Little Hands. He has designed illusions for stage and screen, including a recent collaboration with HBO for “Game of Thrones”. Joshua consulted with the United States Postal Service on the design of their postage stamp series, Magic. Joshua appeared at the 2008 Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama and has also delivered private performances for former Presidents Clinton and Trump. Most recently, in January 2018, Joshua was recognized by the Society of American Magicians with their highest proclamation, for his contribution to the art of magic. Notes: The show is strictly limited to twenty persons per show, and reservations are limited to groups of eight or less. SERGE BLOCH (Set Illustration) is a French illustrator, born June 18th, 1956 in Colmar (France). He attended the Claude Lapointe illustration studio in Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs de Strasbourg, and, after his graduation he started working for the children and teens literature. In particular he has been visual chief editor of Bayard jeunesse. He also works for the editorial world for newspapers and magazines such as New York Times, Boston Globe, Le Monde, Telerama, Psychologies, Le Nouvel Observateur, Liberation, etc…He was awarded several international prizes and gold medals in recognition of his work. His contribution to the communication world has been constant. In this field he has worked with prestigious Firms such as Hermes, Coca-Cola, RATP (Paris Mass Transportation), Publicis (Paris), Samsung, petit Bateau. The French Telecommunication Agency, La Poste issued in Automn 2010 stamps that Serge created. His books are internationally translated and published. For his first Japanese book, Inochino Kazoekata (Chikura Shobo publishing),2010 he has collaborated with Kundo Koyama, script writer of Departure, 2008 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. He is sharing his time between NYC and Paris. He has expanded his area of expertise by entering the fine art world doing shows in Paris, NYC, Tokyo, Seoul, Berlin. |
