I can't imagine any play taking my breath away like The Cliffs of Moher did. Or the scenic wonder of the Beara, Dingle and Kerry peninsulas. Or the barren moonscape of The Burren.
And it may not fit with your trip, but the Arran Islands off Galways (especially Inishmaan) are beautiful and bleak and when I was there, empty.
Funnily, I had to content myself with two American classics in Dublin: ALL MY SONS at the Abbey (with two American actors in the leads) and ECCENTRICITIES OF A NIGHTINGALE at the Gate (with Lia Williams, who was terrific). |
