| Surprised Disney is giving us this. It's the event, the obligatory scene. I had assumed it would stay under wraps. I haven't seen the show, but I now get the slightly meh response from many posters. It feels far more like the theme park edition. No, it's not bad. But...what? There's no real staging -- in contrast to the exercised, ground-traversing Elsa in the film -- just Elsa stage center, mostly stationary, moving up and down, and then a lot of repetitive animated stuff around her. Couldn't she build a piece of the castle? It has the look of a NYC Christmas window, a very expensive one. Not a bad thing. But theatrically, it's just oddly static, even the stairs basically go unused. Levy sings the song as expected, i.e. as it's supposed to be sung. I'm not a big fan of the elevated final note, but they need an act button. The audience in the St. James cheered every rising and exploding fractal, like fireworks over the Hudson, so maybe it's thrilling in the house. On TV, and beautifully shot, it's not anything we haven't seen. |

| Frozen's dress transformation was great. But it brought to mind Effie's singing “I Am Changing” in “Dreamgirls.” The spotlight closed in on her face and then suddenly widened, revealing that she was now in a completely different outfit. Simply done in a much more simple time and just as mesmerizing. | |

| Thanks for the tip. I just watched on YouTube. I like it. The costume change is fun. Looks like it's pulled down off her. | |

| Something is off -- of course, you need to be a fan of the material and the story, but the staging in the theatre was thrilling (for me anyway). The camera isn't capturing the excitement. Also, there needs to be more build-up to the number -- there's not enough context for it to really land the way it was presented on The View. | |

| I'm glad The Full Monty is still getting airtime, all these years later. (nm) | |

| Careful. The Little Mermaid was poorly received on Broadway but that is a fantastic movie. | |

| Stage show was kind of meh though. I'll eventually see the Frozen movie, but no rush for me. |

| Well, you've waited this long to see it; it's time to rush. Leave a little bit of time, though, to give you space from the stage show. You may still find the movie underwhelming, but personally, I think it's brilliant. I know there hasn't been a lot of love for "Frozen" on Broadway, but let's remember that most Disney shows get little love from Broadway folks. I can't comment because I haven't seen it, but I wouldn't use the meh response to tell whether the show is good or not. That's why I paid so much for that awful "Tarzan." When everyone hates a Disney show, it's hard to tell if it's warranted because they never (seem to) get any love. No, their shows are rarely as good as "Hello, Dolly!" or "King and I," but I really love "Beauty and the Beast," "Aida," "Newsies," "The Lion King," and "Mary Poppins." ("The Little Mermaid" and "Tarzan" are other stories.) |

| I'm definitely not an anti-Disney person, I promise. :) I feel ya on Tarzan. Oy. |
