The NYT has a powerful email exchange between two Priors.
And in response to Genealley's question about Spinella's performance as Roy Cohn, it took me until act two of Millennium for my brain to stop thinking "why is Prior playing Roy Cohn?" (Similar initial confusion occurred during Spring Awakening and Joyce's The Dead, so strongly do I remember his Angels.) But once I got over my disorder his performance was as good as expected. He gets the poetry of Kushner's language better than almost anyone. And it made for quite the contrast having seen Nathan Lane three weeks earlier. Spinella's take on the role is a bit fey. And to me closer to how Cohn actually sounded in the handful of interviews I've heard. |
