If I recall correctly, NBC's Broadway performances are held in the street in front of Macy's (usually during the 9-10 a.m. hour).

Whereas CBS' performances have been broadcast from the show's theater or pretaped somewhere else.

Speaking of the Tonys, the 2001 revival of ''42nd St.'' started at its own theater and tapped their way onto the street, via subway, and then to Radio City.

Had Scott Rudin had a better relationship with the tony producers, he probably could have worked out a deal somewhat similar last year with "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" and a horse drawn carriage.
