| Apparently, the ghosts of Jean Darling, Margot Moser, Barbara Cook, Pat Stanley, Barbara Ruick, and Marlyn Mason didn't spook Audra. Neither the ghosts of Edwin Booth and John Barrymore nor those of Judith Anderson and Irene Papas prevented Ralph Fiennes and Diana Rigg from copping Tonys respectively for Hamlet and Medea. If Mendez does not take home the prize next Sunday, it will be because Ashely Park (or another nominee) receives more votes. | |

| If Mendez does not take home the prize next Sunday, it will be because Ashley Park (or another nominee) receives more votes. Besides, the reports of Audra's death have been greatly exaggerated, lol. I'm not aware that the living have ghosts. Unless, of course, you're a character in Follies. ;-) |

| Yes, you're probably right, but I knew what the OP meant so I decided to use the same word to avoid confusion. Actually the word ghost does have less common meanings like "trace" and "secondary image" so I felt my ass was covered. For the Carrie Pipperidge actresses I wanted to list those who actually were in Broadway revivals or the '56 film and, of course, Moser, Stanley, and Mason (happily) are still with us. For the Hamlet and Medea choices, I selected actors who were certifyingly ghosts in the most commonly used meaning. | |

| No worries lol - I was essentially responding to the OP in terms of the use of "ghost" anyway. ;-) (Though I suppose you could have mentioned Sarah Brightman along with the other Carries lol - I always think of her as DOA...) (sorry if you're a fan...) |

| I forgot about Brightman. I have nothing against her, but I am not particularly a fan of her singing. | |

| And of course this year also has Andrew Garfield. I think it unlikely that voters would compare prior winners in deciding who they feel gave the best performance. | |

| If the current frontrunners (at GoldDerby.com) all win, at least half of the actors will have won for previously Tony-winning roles. I'm thinking Garfield (Prior Walter), Lane (for Roy Cohn), Mendez (for Carrie Pipperidge) and Butz (for Alfred P. Doolittle). And if Ambrose wins Best Actress, she'll be the first one to win for Eliza in ''My Fair Lady.'' (Julie Andrews & Melissa Errico each lost.) |
