| Saw the WONDERFUL Audra McDonald in Newark this afternoon and she was glorious! Sang for over 2 hours with no intermission and no sips from water bottles on piano. She had a 3 man band backing her beautifully-she sang everything from Cornet Man to Climb Every Mountain and special tributes to Barbara Cook and Jule Styne. She mentioned it's being a dark time for our world that led into an inspiring Make Someone Happy and ended with Over The Rainbow, telling us all to hold onto our dreams and hopes. The world IS a better place with this genius performer,whose heart is as big as her talent and we all left walking on air and feeling more hopeful! A truly enchanting artist! |
