Got in efficiently but member seats are AWFUL.
Hell with it.
If show is any good, I guess I'll try again---maybe they will have released decent ones.
This usually isn't the case. Maybe the Shubert is being elitist. Jerks.

You can than Scott Rudin for the lousy seats.

He pulled the same stunt with The Glass Menagerue
and A View from the Bridge.

An absolute outrage. I’ve been a member for 9 years, logged in at 10:15, and there are no seats closer than Row O for the entire run? Are you kidding me? Bought the miserable tickets, and am planning on going there and trying to exchange for better ones. Inexcusable, to treat their members this way.

logged in at 10:15.
Major mistake! That said, you were still shafted. Like Roy said, do an exchange later and I'm sure you'll move up.

I know. Usually, I log in at 10 am on the dot. Today, I forgot about the sale until I saw my email. Still, I know I’m not the only one who got seats in Row O - from what I’m hearing, lots of people got seats like that, regardless of when they logged in. There is no possibility that all the decent seats from first preview to the end of January were sold out in 22 minutes. I wrote to LCT to complain and request a seat change. We’ll see what happens. When I emailed the Public to complain about THEIR lousy member tickets last year, they sent me a link for better seats and a voucher for two seats to Shakespeare in the Park. You never know. Can’t hurt, right?

Write to Scott Rudin and you might get seats even further back. The King Of Broadway should star in a revival of "The Producers".

If it's not at Lincoln Center, you get screwed, especially if it's Scotty. Be thankful it wasn't Jujamcyn, who forced LCT members to stand in line for HOURS on the first day of sales for "Falsettos", because they wouldn't accept Internet sales.

They served up a close seat on a silver platter. It wasn't your day.

It's a Scott Rudin production and they always start with designating most of the orchestra as premium. What I intend to do, as I always do with his productions, is buy a seat now - I already got row P in the center - and replace it with tickets to another performance, 72 hours in advance of that performance (which you can do, as an LCT member.) There are a lot of performances in which premium are turned to regular. I started with Carousel in the front mezzanine and switched to Orchestra Center row E. Made that switch two days before a random performance, when I saw that tickets are available. Same thing with Bette in Dolly. Less than $200 for row F, dead center.

royscho, that's why I finally bought the date/seat I did; the one I haven't isn't terrible, but I figured that I could try to upgrade a few days prior, either for that day or a day or the day before.

You'd want to do that in person, right? What a hassle.

No need to do it in person, and not a hassle. Just a phone call.

twocents, with great affection, I have to ask you, have you had more caffeine this morning than you usually do? I'm thrilled that your situation worked out so well for you, I really am, just as I feel bad for all those who were constantly kicked out, but you seem to be rather....gleeful...about others' bad luck (and I don't consider myself one of the others, I did fine). In any event, yay, you! And I feel for the rest of you.

It always feels like the Kentucky Derby for me on a sale day. I know what the short end feels like, so I savor the "win." I concede that it's oddly bizarre to be so excited to spend money, at the end of the day.

No, not bizarre at all. Just exemplifies how challenging the process typically is that one good seat feels like the Powerball.

Assuming that few people went to the Shubert BO, and the fact that the phone lines were completely down, it appears that everyone was forced to do this online.
