| I was also surprised by Mueller's win since I thought in nominating LaChanze as sole nominee from "Summer" she might have been thought of as standing above that show and as something special (I haven't seen the show.) I agree that Kilgore should have been nominated and I am puzzed as to why she was not except for the fact that it is the Drama Desk. I am still puzzled as to why Ethan Slater was not nominated by the Drama League, not that he would have presented any competition to Glenda Jackson but with over 50 persons nominated, you would think one of the leading contenders for Tony Best Musical actor might have been recognized. As to the Tony Awards, I think that "The Bands Visit" has sort of a lock on Best Musical, Best Actress and Best Musical Score. I think most of the other awards are either going to other shows (Tina Fey should start preparing an acceptance speech for book of a musical e.g.) or are up for grabs.
