In the very early days of the virus , there was a lot of confusion. I did not end up caring for many AIDS patients, but I remember the first few in our Hospital. It is not against HPPA rules, to relate this, but after one of our first HIV Patients died, the room was not only cleaned , but Re Painted. We wore those paper face masks, tho that turned out to be not necessary. I'm so glad the new meds are there and hope the various scientists come up with a complete cure. I was never in the place where loved after loved one died. I just read the obits in the paper, & said a requiestcat in Pace. When I got news of a college classmate who had passed away, I looked up his obit in the Times(He lived in Manhattan) where he family asked that .instead of flowers, contributions be sent to GOD'S LOVES WE DELIVER, 166 Avenue of the Americas. New York New York, 10013. so that's what I sometimes do.

you've written some very striking and moving (and distinctive) words about being pulled into history without full awareness.
I sense there is a person of genuine commitment and humility behind them, and you have done what you can in an impossible situation...--

Met him in the Village, I think in the late seventies. He was nice but very bitter.

Don't forget … he had a 12-month '67-'68 run on Broadway in the musical "Illya Darling" as the timid sailor.

What a heartbreaking story & yet another example of the casting industry failing a talented performer. Awful.
