Sunday evening, 6/3.
Excellent cast. Elaborate production.
It plays like a development piece. Scatter-shot.
Shows us, but doesn't have much new to say about multiple current hot-button topics.
Gay, lesbian, transgender marriages and child-rearing. Faithfulness. Friendship.

Surprisingly, I really liked it. I remember seeing Jesse Tyler Ferguson exiting his play at the Vineyard many years ago and he stayed downstairs (by the bathrooms) to greet people. Was a class act and very laid-back and friendly. This was of course before he became big, but I knew he'd go on to much success. He was so great in this show as well and had all the mannerisms down to a tee.

Show asks the key question "With all of the rights (including LGBT rights) many of us have right now, what other things 50 years from now will we think back on, that we should have done differently now? What else can we do today to make life better for everyone?" If you're not familiar with the difference between the words "trans" vs "cis", you should look them up before you see the show, so that you get more out of the show. That baby monitor sure comes into play later in the show! And that gorgeous rotating set reminds me of something that MTC would do. Show runs just over 90 minutes, no intermission.

Was surprised to see it at Playwrights, since I would have thought MTC or Roundabout/Laura Pels would have done such a great show. Playwrights finally put on a show to bring people together as a community, rather than bring people down and tear people apart. I'm shocked.
