I think it takes a while to find its urgency, but it becomes much better once it picks up steam after the sluggish and less-than-focused introductory scenes (at least in its first week of performances).

In my opinion the two leads aren’t well matched. I found Corey Stoll’s Iago to be far stronger than Chikwudi Iwuji’s Othello. The Emilia (sorry, forget the actress’s name) was very interesting, and I thought the bedroom scene was well done (though the strangling is kind of odd. Sort of death by Heimlich maneuver). But the play, of course, is endlessly fascinating—this hate that simply exists at the start of the play and drives the whole plot. I’ve been thinking about it a lot over the past week.
