| If they took it out, they wouldn't use the time to get more awards into the show or allow more time for speeches. Something else would fill the time, but I doubt the distribution of awards or timing of presentation will change without a longer broadcast slot, new producers for the Tony show or a greater movement from outside to refocus the show on the awards. (And if more awards are given on the broadcast proper, speech cutoffs will be firmer and more frequent.) |
