I think you are missing the point. The students were survivors of the Parkland shooting. The teachers saved 65 students. This has nothing to do with what you are mentioning. It has more to help kids deals with these types of issues and as Matthew Morrison said. Broadway was there for them. A student wanted to thank the Broadway community and the Tonys ended up giving them a slot on the show. I thought it was heartfelt.
As for both Chita and Andrew Lloyd Webber that was very sad. Would have been a great place to have Broadway performers sing a medley as opposed to the smallest of bits the presenters gave us. They both deserved better. |
