| For what it's worth, I found this year's Tonys to be less full of political hyperventilating than any other awards show within recent memory. Most made their points gently and were quite moving; more personal than political. De Niro's approach was jarring but as anyone following the news can see, our President recently alienated our nation's long-standing allies and neighbors while continuing to curry favor with Vladimir Putin and break new bread with Kim Jong Un. I can't believe more people aren't cursing him out. |
