Although she is not old enough, maybe she thinks she was around in the days before there were directors. I suspect it is not just Mantello, but if you take note of Metcalf's acceptance comment (that Joe taught her the play) I can see how Jackson might have had no time for the tutelage. I don't know though, mind you.
