| I totally agree....this is not the way to encourage people to support Theatre (Broadway or any other productions). People who go to the theatre all have different political views and are not monolithic in their thoughts and beliefs. This is not a time to alienate the half of the country who voted for the duly elected President ( in a huge electoral win). Many theatre people preach tolerance.....unless you have different political views, or come from areas in this country that think and speak differently.....then the tolerance is thrown out the window (such hypocrisy). I agree, Di Nero has lost it....an angry man (he has not lowered prices in his restaurants.... I guess Capitalism is working for him but he doesn't want it to work for others....the Middle Class was starving, losing jobs and couldn't afford Health Care)....and he still gets millions for his latest movies which for the most part have been pretty pathetic recently). No one care what Di Nero, Midler, etc. or any other entertainer has to say about politics.....obviously....they lost (get over it)!! That being said, I thought the Tony's were boring. The new shows for the most part are mediocre at best. Hope next year is a more exciting year for Broadway! I love Broadway! |
