| Given how skimpy this Tony season was, I was reminded of my favorite Off-Broadway musicals that never got to the Great White Way. A few of these shows (since 2000) got raves and won awards, but I guess transfers were thwarted by financing, logistics, timing, etc. I have no doubt they would've gotten lotsa Tony nominations, especially for their original scores, performers, direction and design. * ''The Wild Party'' (2000) by Andrew Lippa * ''Radiant Baby' (2003) by Debra Barsha, Ira Gasman and Stuart Ross * ''Yank!'' (2010) by David and Joseph Zellnik * ''Here Lies Love'' (2013) by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim |
