| The soundtrack is a perfectly fine recording. I had fallen in love with Julie Andrews on the '56 OBC and wanted another copy of it for Christmas. My mom got me the film soundtrack instead so I was disappointed. I liked the movie when I saw it on a big screen in downtown Chicago back in '64, but I'm less of a fan of it today. I love Audrey Hepburn's vocals on the Funny Face and Breakfast at Tiffany's soundtracks. Once I was familiar with her actual singing voice, I had a hard time accepting Marni Nixon's dubbing of her vocals in My Fair Lady. I do think Harrison's and Holloway's vocals on the soundtrack are quite good though. I've heard Hepburn's vocals of "Loverly" and "Show Me" -- they're quite charming, but unfortunately her "Danced All Night" is not. |
