| One hardly knows where to begin. I know for a fact that Mambo Mouth would not have happened without the support of Wynn Handman and the American Place. I know for a fact that, after opening in the SubPlot, the show moved to the mainstage. If this had been a Friars Club roast, I suppose Leguizamo's comment might have been mistaken for humor. But it was the Tony Awards. What's offensive is your suggestion that it's OK for a star to trash someone whose life has been dedicated to nurturing talent such as that very star's for the sake of "a comedian's joke." |
