| Yes, I think Ambrose does some rather nice singing on the new recording, but there are places where she's very low-key and seems to be trying to sing so carefully, and I wondered the same thing: Is she consciously trying to minimize strain because of the well-known difficulties of sustaining the role over a long run? It's about the least exciting "Show Me" ever, although I do like much of what she does elsewhere so I really don't want to put her down. |
