I suppose I interpret her remarks regarding the play a bit differently. I take away the thought that she finds the play difficult and mentally exhausting for her and the other actors. At the same time, she feels a certain exhilaration by the end of each performance and finds it difficult to sleep until much later in the early morning. I may be wrong, my interpretation of such things is not always shared by others. As for the Tony, who knows? My, totally unsubstantiated hunch, is that the season in question is one in which many Tony voters did not see all of the nominated plays. (I also have no idea the number or identification of voters that year...it was still a bit before my time of knowledge regarding such things). Anyway, I still remember the production and it was a whopping $7.58 for an orchestra ticket. Ginger Rogers in HELLO DOLLY was around $8.00 and my meager savings account earned 4.5%!!!
