Faye Dunaway was magnificent in Master Class which I saw in Boston. Many others to whom I have spoken who saw her on that tour agree. She truly inhabited Callas and did not rely on her usual Dunaway mannerisms. What's more the bit of singing she had to do in the role made one wish she could have had her chance in Sunset Boulevard. I also had the good fortune to see her in Bravo & Circe in London in which she was also captivating all on her own (pretty much) as a Martha Mitchell type character. She is one of our greatest actresses who, because of her personal demons , is sadly not cast in projects worthy of her talent. (Her imdb page is full of credits one has never seen or heard of) As far as those demons are concerned..... I also know that in the production office, when they had a tough day and needed a laugh, they would read the stage managers notes from Master Class about her antics (lateness due to sending away the limousine they sent her because it was white) etc.... but I would love to see her triumph in another stage role...... Sweet Bird of Youth seems ideal for her.
